Honda CR-V diesel - Emissions warning light

Hi folks,

Long time lurker, first time poster, so please be gentle with me.
I have an 06 plate, Honda CR-V 2.2 diesel, with 35,000 miles on the clock.
When I started it this morning the emissions warning light stayed on.
I.A.W the user manual I stopped and started it 3 times, 30 seconds apart, however the light stays on.
Does anyone have any suggestions about the cause and how much to fix?
Thanks.

    Probably be the EGR valve.

I had the EGR valve replaced for a modified valve under warranty, about 2 years ago because there was an intermittent power loss issue with the car. Do you think the replacement one would fail so quickly?

I've had no problems with fuel consumption or loss of power.

You really need the fault code reading to find out what the problem is.

Hi I've got the fault code P1062 does anyone know what this means? I can't find any information on the web about this fault code. Thanks.

Hi folks update on my problem.

Took the car to local garage, fault code p1062 reported. It doesn't show on their manuals and can't find anything on the internet related to this code. Garage reset warning light.

The light came back on yesterday. Same symptoms, on startup will not rev past 2000 rpm. Switching the engine off and on and everything is fine except the light stays on.

Doing a little more research it appears that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve may be sticking.

Not wanting to pay them more money to not find the fault and just reset the light. I searched the Internet and I've found a product called Wynn's EGR Cleaner, my question is has anyone used it and how easy is it to use/apply?

    Thanks

But not a Honda dealer? to be honest your clutching at straws with EGR cleaners or whatever, (it could be 1 of 1000 things) you need to go to someone who knows what the code means for this vehicle and go from there.

You could try asking on a Honda forum like http://www.civinfo.com/forum/honda-cr-v/

Often very knowledgable people and Honda dealers around who may have the code list or previous experience of it.
