Cannot update nvidia forceware

I am running FileHippo update checker and for the last few months it has come up that my NVIDIA Forceware 186.34 WHQL XP needs to be updated to NVIDIA Forceware 257.21 WHQL XP when i download the file it will not update so i have still got 186.34. Could you please help a pc dummy out. Also when i click on say anything in my Favourites it stalls before displaying it, is this something to do with NVIDIA? thanks guys 'N' Girls all virus scans comeback as ok the logs are ok plenty of HDD space and 4megs of ram.

is not true, do you have a specific game you are having trouble with or particular advanced feature of your card you are having problems with, if its working happily now with alll your other drivers and programs DON'T TRY TO UPDATE IT.

Don't install further junk programs on your PC that tell you they're at all necessary, especially not ones that 'tinker' with your OS and drivers, on they whole they do so badly and create problems

Ok I dont play games on the PC but wife is addicted to Facebook Games EG: Solitair & Poker

I only Install the programs that Techies on here recomend (Except FileHippo)

Any Idea what could be causing the delay EG: IE takes 3 or 4 seconds to come but it is a blank page except for the task bars at the top. But another 3 or 4 seconds to show the page. I did a simular thread to this question before and alienrik came to my rescue I thought it was good after that but alas it wasn't.
