I'm trying to log onto my internet banking with HSBC.
It lets me put in my Internet Banking number and goes onto the next page.
I put all the security details in & the page loads & says 'done' but then it keeps saying 'waiting for download'.
I've spoken to someone from Internet banking & done all he's told me to do but I still can't get into it.
Help would be appreciated

Mine's OK.
Not sure what the problem would be. What does it say in the bottom left of the browser window after you input your dob and pin numbers ?
updated your browser lately ? Are you using their security software thingy ? .....
you're using hsbc.co.uk, right ?0 -
High KingL
I've used several browsers, I was even told to download another browser.
The green segments at the bottom of the page fill up & it says 'done' , but then it keeps coming up ' waiting for' .
I can still get onto my other banking accounts.
I have'nt got Rapport0 -
Thanks KingL
Guess what, I've just downloaded Rapport & I can now get into it.
Does this mean that you have to have Rapport for the HSBC now !!!!!
Thanks for your replies, much appreciated

No you do not need Rapport to do your HSBC, I've just checked mine [ as did KingL ] and it's ok without Rapport.
Whatever your problem was, Rapport did not cure it, it was something else.
Rapport should in my opinion be at the front of all of the things you should never put on a puter.
If you want more info, I'll find it for you after 8pm, search this forum for Rapport.
- when you search the forum, amongst others I said :
Why trust anyone ? just because it's your bank doesn't make them experts, it arguably doesn't even make them any more expert than you are, yet they frighten you the customer into putting one more piece of software onto your puter.
HSBC login system already requires a specific PIN and a variable password [ changes each time you log in ] and a 3 wrong strikes and your locked out fall back position.
I don't trust any of the words that the Okie Island Trading Company have to say about the validity of Rapport, and certainly not their testing methodology.
My understanding is it eats RAM, slows your net experience, has low detection capabilities, high false positives, and any program without a reverse gear [ uninstaller ] should not be allowed on any computer.
Your computer is your responsibility, keep it, and a good AV, clean and updated and you won't need this extra burden. There's nothing new about keyloggers they've been around since the days of BB's, [ DOS version of the internet ] I'm not sure if (a) the banks have been scammed into paying money to Rapport, by Rapport or (b) the banks are scamming the customers with Rapport.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Hi Ritchie
Not sure what to do now. If I get rid of Rapport I might not be able to get into HSBC.

Try deleting all your browsing history, cookies and especially the Temporary Internet files - That might help?0

While I agree with much of what Richie points out about Rapport, I would suggest that if you now have it installed and it is not having an adverse effect on your PC, then leave it installed.
Although it may not be a very good product, it's what the bank recommends, and that recommendation is worthwhile insurance in itself.0 -
Even their own Rapport SafeUninstall utility is a dodgy bit of kit.
Lookie
Renee, you should not only take my opinion - others may have a different opinion, you should listen / read other views also. However it's on your machine now !
It hides files and folders all over and sets the RASH on them. Do not expect to get any help from your bank or Rapport.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
