Thoughts on faulty trainers?

OH bought a pair of branded trainers instore from SportsDirect on 19th May, so very nearly 2 months ago.
The trainers have several lengths of red plastic 'piping' as a trim on the side of each foot. These are now peeling off, they are joined at the start and the end of the trim but have detached in the middle so the lines are flapping a bit.

The trainers haven't been worn all that much but given the time, does he have any kind of comeback? I don't think 'fit for purpose' applies here as they still act as a trainer, the problem is more just decorative. Is it too late to try to return them?

Well if I wasn't annoyed before I am now. I've been trying to phone them and they just keep cutting the phone off. They must be busy but that's doing nothing for my blood pressure, it's very annoying being cut off before I even get to say hello. What a crap system they have.
