Right, after filling in all my details, I'm left with this summary:
- Maintenance Loan - £3,453.00
- Tuition Fee Loan - £3,290.00
- HE Maintenance Grant - £2,906.00
My question is: If I apply for the maximums listed here, can I potentially get all of those? For example, can I get the full Maintenance loan AND the HE Maintenance grant, as in £6359.00?
It wasn't really explained too well to me, and of course, I really need to know what I'm looking at financially as soon as possible.
Thanks for any help!

Hello!
I think i am right in saying that if you are eligible for the full grant, it reduces pound for pound what you get in the loan. Or it might be the other way around. Either way, unless you are in special circumstances and receiving a special support grant, i don't think you get the maximum of both. Hope this helps!"You don't always know where you stand, until you know you won't run away..."0 -
I presume you mean you've put your figures into the online calculator rather than this being your assessment?
The full HE maintanence loan is £4950 (more if you are studying in London) so the figures you've been given are not the full HE maintanence loan as it has been reduced due to you being eligible for the full grant - you don't lose out on anything it just means you have less to pay back.
In answer to whether you can get all of this, if the assessment of your application says you're eligible for all of this then yes you will get it if you want it. You may also get a grant from your university but that gets assessed once the SLC inform the university of what you are eligible for from them.0 -

This is right. Also check if there's any bursaries that you are eligable for.War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0 -
Are you an independent student or will you be assessed on your parent's income?0

Yeah the loan gets reduced, mine does anyway and replaced with a higher grant. Means i'm getting £2763 as my maintenance loan, and £2413 as a grant. This is after applying for full amounts and based on my parents income aswell for my second year. Always apply for full amounts and apply for everything you can, although this doesn't mean you will get the full amounts, all depends on each individuals circumstances, but yes it's all very confusing at first.Saved: £1566.53/ £20000
