Grrr just typed a reply and lost it.

I got an email this morning about my new social services financial assessment. They've allowed the cups/plates/cutlery, which is good, and they've allowed the equipment I've bought, which is good. But they haven't allowed my therapeutic activities (seeing my support worker, the writing group for service users) or petrol. Really annoyed about the petrol cos they told me they would accept it with receipts, and that until then they could just allow me the minimum (£3 a week). Now they've had the receipts and it's still at that amount. So it's still needing me to pay more than I can afford. They said that all the stuff they didn't allow was 'normal household expenditure'. I should tell makesenseofcards to allow for a mental health support worker in the SOA then lol.

Spoke to my support worker and she was annoyed too, she'll write me a letter if I need it, I've emailed the manager to appeal.

Then I went and fed my stationery addiction in the Ryman's sale. I have enough to last me at least a few months and/or three books now.

I can't see the point of a terramundi pot, they're so nice but to say they get broken they're pretty expensive. Or maybe that's how I got into a mess - worrying about the pennies and not the pounds!

SC 15 quid a go? even with a full one I would cry at spending that much and smashing it open.

Hello all... I am still trying to ignore the sales!

Quiet-ish day at work again, working on some stuff for the website though which is quite good fun.

Won a sewing machine on ebay yesterday so off to pick that up tonight - can't wait to get going with it :)

  • Afternoon everyone,

I'm going back to being a blonde next month! After three years of having mousey coloured hair, I'm having blonde highlights put in. A treat from the OH.

I wonder how much my personality will change? And if I'll have the urge to buy pink stuff?

I too am avoiding the sales and don't see the point of those money pots you smash once they're full up. I've got a 'Cornish' piggy bank, (he's apparently made out of Cornish Pottery!) and a piggy bank shapped like a VW Camper Van!!!

yes with a bit of juggling...trouble is I keep spending my savings and debt free pot *sigh* although saying that what I made on ebay this week covers it

Well, there you go then. You've covered it with your ebay sales so it's money neutral.
