We got the car August last year. fingers crossed for a good recovery in her young little life, although we found out today that she will need a full hip replacement when she's 40 and then another at 60 - theres was me thinking that it would all be over for her.
Yes, but surely better that than having to be in a wheelchair all her life?
(Editing to say I am not being offensive in any way by saying above)

I'm sure Motability will be delighted to hear of her improvement and will not charge in the circumstances.

Oh gosh of course it is better than her being in a wheelchair all her life.

I was hoping that I would have been able to get everything sorted out for her at this young age so that she would never have to go through all what she has done again.

Nice to see some people who are happy to return their car/stop or change their benefits etc when they no longer require it. Some will continue to abuse the system when they do not need it.

As stated in previous posts i would advise to keep hold of the car till your daughter is fit enough to walk. You have to notify DLA of any change in circumstances but remember if she has difficulty in walking unaided or can walk a certain distance but with discomfort/pain you are still eligible for mobility award. You don't only have to be in a wheelchair to qualify.

Regarding to returning your car, you may have to pay £250 to cancel the agreement. They may waive the amount if you are claiming hardship. If you paid any advance payment you will receive some of it back. You can change your car if the current one is unsuitable. Remember that motability people are not keen on people changing their car just for the sake of it.

Pray all goes well for your daughter
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
  • Just curious, how long before the 3 years was up did your son change the car?

    18 months,they needed something bigger
