Ideas for days out in South Devon and any discount vouchers needed

Options
Hi we are camping in S.Devon in a couple of weeks and would love any ideas for reasonably priced days out the cheaper the better ;) and any discount codes or vouchers that anyone knows of. We are going to be based in Galmpton near Brixham and have 2 kids aged 10 and 2 so I thought Paignton Zoo might be a good idea but can't seem to find any vouchers, will also need ideas for places to eat if anyone knows of any?

Many Thanks for peoples help

We love Trago Mills just outside Newton Abbot, kids always want to go there, not that far from there probably 20-30 minute drive.

Something for everyone, huge shop with everything you could ever imagine, plus an outlet shop, and smaller independents, garden centre. A free petting zoo, free play area, narrow gauge Steam Railway, Supakarts and Family Go-Karts, all weather ice skating, Bumper Boats, Trawler Rides and Swan Pedalos, Trampolines, Aquablasters, Orbitors, Shooting Gallery, Remote Control Cars and Cruisers, Forklifts and Mini Diggers, Slide Complex, Fun Dungeon, The Den Animal Park, Fort Trago, Picnic Area, Edwardian Penny Arcade.

There is no entrance fee and parking is free, you can buy a day ticket or tokens for the attractions but these are very reasonably priced I think, eg. 1.50 (3 tokens) for a bumper boat for 2 people for 5 minutes so 75p each, or you can buy a pass which gives you a go one everything for about £5 per person and if you buy 3 you get 4th free.

If you are in that area there is also the House of Marbles just a couple of minutes further down the road. Again no entrance fee & free parking, you can watch glass blowing from the gallery, and there is a glass/marble museum. There is an outlet shop which is very cheap, the main glasswhere shop is quiet expensive, but we always end of with a bag full of marbles which start from 10p each.

Pennywell Farm is fantastic for kids & you can use Tesco Clubcard points.

Woodlands Leisure Park - discount voucher at Lets Go with the Children.

I agree about Trago Mills - my kids loved it when they were younger.

    Babbacombe Model Village

Blackpool Sands - a lovely beach.

    Yes Pennywell is very nice.

Babbacombe Model Village is nice but quite pricey, you also have Bygones just round the corner, I have put a link to both.

The beach at Babbacombe/Oddicombe is nice, if you are feeling adventurous there is a very steep cliff path down or you can use the cliff railway (1.20 return ticket) Oddicombe is quite enclosed by the cliffs, it is a sand/shingle beach, nice cafe area at the top of the beach with lots of tables, icecream booth, beach shop, never that busy, I could sit there all day. You can take the short path at the bottom of the cliff over to Babbacombe beach, few steps, wooden bridges etc, few rock pool areas you can climb down to on the way. Babbacombe is a shingle beach. There is a very nice carvery at the top of the cliffs but I forget its name.

There is also Living Coasts in Torquay Harbour they call it a coastal zoo, its a bit like a cross between an aquarium and a giant avary on the cliff top. You can get a discount on buying a joint ticket for there and Paignton Zoo and visit one, one day and the other the next.

We also just spend lots of time at the beaches down there, Teignmouth - traditional seaside town, nice beach, traditional pier. There is a small river beach at the back of the main car park, kids like to get the nets and buckets and catch starfish, sand eels, crabs etc there, do watch out for the odd jellyfish. Meadfoot (Torquay) - sandy one end, shingle the other, tide goes out a long way revealing lots of rockpools, very quiet beach. Torre Abbey (Torquay) large sandy busy tourist beach. Goodrington (Paignton) very nice sandy beach.

.....any one get the feeling I really like Devon!!! ;)
