Should I be planting anything now?

I have space free in the garden as I didn't have enough time to grow everything I wanted in spring as we had just moved in. I currently have courgettes, blueberrys, strawberries, potatoes, tomatoes, sweetcorn and runner beans growing in the garden. Along with one butternut squash plant which has been the same size (small) for weeks and doesn't seem to be growing and is no where near fruiting.

I have one raised bed free now and I will have another one free soon.

Is there anything I can plant at this time of year? Either indoors or out?

Thanks :)

If you are happy for the ground to be occupied for a while you could be looking at putting in some spring Cabbage.

A bit later on (circa september) you could be looking to put in some winter onion (sets) and possibly even some garlic.

Certain quick growing salad items " might be do-able as well such as lettuce and radish.

Think you are only struggling with the longer growth time veggies such as toms, aubergines, most of the brassicas. But you can sow the salad leaves over and over-my dad has sowed to many lettuces again this year, got my own cut and come again salad leaves plus inherited 12 mid sized baby gems that will be due to plant out this week. He has also told me he has about 30 lollo rossos seedlings at early stages, didn't like to tell him I also have about 10 each of LR and romaine in the seedling stages. Good job we eat shed loads of salads at this time of year lol.

Carrots can be sown now as well as spring onions, radish and beetroot all of which are fairly quick growers. I am also still sowing peas and beans and swedes as well as swiss chard and spinach. In the last few years we got warm indian summers so to speak so I will risk some late sowings in the hopes of warmth through to october (can always use cloches).
