Best close October Half Term holiday destination?

Hi,
We are contemplating going for a holiday in October half term this year with the LO.
I'd like to be somewhere hot (25c+) but not too far away.
We are going to be booking last minute as I'd like to be able to pay £1500 all inclusive, close to beach, nice complex.
Sounds like are asking a lot, I'm sure we are.
Was looking to go to Spain, week starting 16/08/2010 last minute but not sure we will get OH's passport in time.

You would get the passport in time no problem

If you go oct half term the only place to look at for weather would be the canarys and the prices will rocket for those dates

Half term unfortunately which in the South East is 25th - 29th Oct.
Yeah I had a little look and its over £2k at the mo.
