IVA and a second job

Hi,

I have been in an IVA for 2 years and I have a few questions ;

1)To make ends meet, I am considering a second job. Will the IVA people take this additional amount off me ? I was considering having the money paid into my partners account, could this be detected by IVA people ? Do they have rights to approach the tax office ?

2)My car is on its last legs. My partner is 'lending' me £5000 to get a 4 year old peugeout diesel so I can get to work. if the car is registered in my name, will the IVA people try and take it off me at the end of the term (2-3 years away) ?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give...
Ann.

    1) they will probably want to do another income & expenditure with you, and adjust your payments accordingly

    2) i take it you had a car at the beginning of the iva, was the deal at the start of the iva that at the end you had to sell car and give the iva company the money?, if not then you should be fine to keep it at end, although you may need partner to write a leter in to prove they have either lent you the money and you have agreed when you are going to pay it back, or that your partner has brought you the car, as the iva company will probably want to know where you suddenly had £5000 to spend on a car

    When I had to change my car last year, all I had to do was get my mum to write to say that she was lending me the money and was paying her back at £100 a month - that was fine with them.

  • Thanks for replying - when you say they will want to check my income v's expenditure, can they only do this via the bank statements I supply or do they have the power to approach the tax office. I was thinking that if i had my second wages paid into my partners account that they wouldn't detect it ?

    thanks...

    if you did this, and then at one of your yearly reviews they asked for your P60 they would know something is amiss

    Talk to your IP, this is so important. Do NOT try and circumnavigate the process, you would be in breach of a legal agreement and land yourself in VERY hot water. It is not worth it
