Heating system quote

Hello, I just received this quote from a large plumbing company in London. Personally I feel its excessive, but I'm not too experienced with those costs. Please help me out here.
Thermal Store Works
To drain down, disconnect and remove existing Gledhill system thermal store.
To modify pipework as necessary to accommodate new Gledhill Torrent T130SP thermal store.
To supply and fit Grundfos 15/50 central heating circulating pump.
To supply and fit new Honeywell ST9400A twin channel programmer including necessary wiring connections.
To supply and fit 2 x Honeywell 22mmm port valves.
To supply and fit Honeywell 10-way wiring centre.
To refill system, dose with corrosion inhibitor, test, commission and hand over to customer.
Labour 2 man days @ £750.00 per day
£ 1,500.00
Materials
£ 1,435.00
All for the total estimated sum of
£ 2,935.00
Plus V.A.T @ the current rate
£ 513.63
Total
£ 3,448.63
Looking at this, materials come to £1686.13 including VAT. I've been looking around the net and figure I can get those materials for maybe £1150 or £1200 including VAT. I certainly wonder if they double charged me VAT here on the materials.
In terms of labour, £1500 + VAT (£1762.50) for 2 days of work removing the old water tank and putting in the new one? I'm not sure I can agree to that. Do plumbers always charge that much?
My feeling is that I could maybe employ a plumber more cheaply to do the work, or alternatively have some builders do it, who tend to have a plumber in their team. Of course I'm not sure about the relative quality of the work, though would feel that it would still be adequate?
Would I be correct in judging the total cost should really not be exceeding ~£1900-2000? Especially if I can employ a smaller company using cash and thus avoid VAT on labour?
