Royal Mail Case Closed?

I sold a nintendo Wii on ebay which never arrived-I put a claim in with Royal Mail but in the meantime the buyer had moved house, the letter went to his old house and he never got it..finally managed today to get his new address but looking at the letter the royal Mail sent it says 'If we have not heard from you or Mr **** in the next 10 days we will close this case accordingly. That was 3 weeks ago. Anyone know if I'll be able to get the case re-opened? obviously they still have my receipt for the wii so can't apply again :-(

Hi if you ring them and explain it to them they can reopen it but its down to their discretion. Royal Mail have got tough on claims lately as apparently they have so many of them they cant pay out on them all (their words to me when I rang to appeal one).My reply was its not my fault you loose so much post or maybe its the postmen being dishonest not the customers.

I assume a wii went special delivery, i n which case as that is fully tracked they should know if it arrived or not and i would argue the case with RM.
