Have you checked the agreement to see what it says under Landlords obligations?
usual stuff about the maintenance of the property, who's responsible for what.
dont think they are denying that they should be responsible for it, it just they keep bodging it up, then they can say they are seen to be doing something0 -
As I said before, your landlord has an obligation to you to make your home habitable which it obviously isnt so, as I suggested previously, the best course would be to inform them in writing that if they dont make it habitable then you will put the matter with a solictor.0

my partner read up about it, and apparently it can be reported to the local council, even though its not a council house,
she's reported the roof along with the other stuff we suspect thats suspect.
we are no experts, but pretty sure that an electric cooker should have its own isolator, to which it hasn't , there is just a separate fuse box in another room in the extension that feeds all the kitchen appliances,
if she had to switch the cooker supply off in an hurry, she had to go in that room, grab some step ladders to switch it off, or reach under the cupboard to unplug it thats in a bog standard socket, ofcourse not the latter if its on fire!0 -
