Gl24

GL24 has gone back to the DLA for appeal process to start - they have acknowledged receipt of it.

Would be interested to hear your comments on when/what you heard from the DWP after the GL24 was sent in.

I know each case is different but hoping you can bolster my enthusiasm and willpower to fight this DLA refusal - so some good news and fast time scale posts would be great to hear (if there are any out there !)

We are now back on the dreaded ' brown envelope doormat watch !'

Thanks everyone x

My friend was told that she could ring after eleven weeks. After six weeks she received a large pack of papers connected to the case, including a very interesting transcript of a telephone call with the headteacher of her son's school. This is the same headmistress who said that she has not spoken to anybody at DLA.....

I'm not sure of anuy other details, but the eleven weeks are not up yet.

Good luck with your appeal x

Back to being the postmans stalker then Sox???? lol

Not wishing to hijack your thread but when you send in your GL24 and in time the huge bundle of papers arrive, does this mean by this stage they have reconsidered and said no or can the reconsideration still take place after these papers arrive?
    Does that make sense???

    Update - still no news - !
Anniesmum - have you had your bundle of papers then ?????
Would be great if someone knows if the DWP can reconsider at any point throughout the process right up to the appeal date ?

They do reconsider before the appeal.

I appealed earlier this year. About a month after I posted my GL24 a brown envelope came through the door. Thought it was the statement of reasons for decisions. Was in fact award letter, reinstating benefit to previous rate, at reconsideration.

Times do seem to vary greatly from person to person though. HTH and good luck!

Forgot to say, I think they reconsider before sending out all the tribunal stuff. Not 100% sure on that though. You could try phoning and asking if your case has been reconsidered...
