Overpaid rent

I've recently checked my bank statements and see I've made erroneous overpayments to my LL over the past few months which they've not questioned or alerted me to. The amount is greater than the rent due for the last 2 months of the agreement, can I just stop paying any further rent as I've technically already paid it in past overpayments?

Have you tried speaking to your LL about this?

Whilst your LL hasn't alerted you to the overpayments, neither do you seem to have noticed ;)

Write (proper letter, recorded delivery) to your LL, setting out what payments you have made, & suggesting that if he/she agrees with your figures you cancel your dd, or dds, as you have paid to the end of your fixed term.

Yes you can. You have to pay the rent before the due date, but you can pay as long in advance as you like.

It's polite to make your LL aware of all this though, in case they rely on the monthly income to smooth their cashflow somehow.
