Odd Kitchen door

I purchased a new kitchen from a local company with appliances approx £5500. a door was missing when I enquired it was on back order this came about 2 weeks later after kitchen had been installed, the door was different the same colour but no pattern like the rest of the doors ie shaker style it has spoiled the effect of the kitchen, I was never told at the outset that a 200ml door was only available plain and when questioned the store they were unaware that a 200ml door was different until it arrived, I paid in full by credit card.
Gratefull for any advice.

They should have told you a 200 door was different are you sure its a door i used to work in kitchens and the smallest was a 300 it sounds like to me its a small end panel or filler and thats why it has no shaker pattern on it, check and see if the door is the same as your end panels and measure the door to make sure its 200, id tell them your not happy with this and you want a proper door to match with the rest of your doors if they cant provide you with a door, depending where it is in your kitchen id change it for a wine rack or something to fill the gap or perhaps a frosted glass door, there are many ways they can fix this problem and id also ask for some compensation if all else fails because you paid by your credit card you have rights check out section 75 in this website regarding paying things with your credit card.

Hi thanks for the response, they never mentioned the 200 door it was on back order when it arrived and I questioned them they said they did not know a 200 door would not have the pattern on it and was plain, I have checked the door its not the same as the end panels and looks normal apart from no pattern, we already have a wine rack and just want a matching door that we paid for and expected, as for compensation I don't know were to start with a odd kitchen door I welcome any suggestions or help I will be speaking to them soon even if I quote section 75 I am not sure what I should want at the end other than a kitchen that matches.
    Thanks

To be honest Ive never seen a 200mm cupboard or door in kitchen ranges. Perhaps it would help if you gave us a link to a web page for the the manufacturer and design of the kitchen you have, perhaps a photo of the cupboard and door as supplied in your kitchen?

The more info you provide, the more responses and help you may get. :)

I purchased this kitchen from howdens the burford range shaker style it does not show on their site a 200 ml door or in the catalogue but the designer designed it after his visit and never commented about this problem, but when I complained about it he said he was unaware they were unable to get a 200ml door in this design and style , they said they will resolve the issue but I don't know how if they don't make a 200ml door.
    Help required.

A 200 mm shaker style door - there's not enough width for the design to work, surely?

they do a 200 base unit but no door for it as they are either wine racks or storage bases with no doors so i i presume he was an independant joiner that got howdens to do your plan and then you paid howdens for the units and then paid the joiner to fit them ? they do not do a door that is shaker style the design would be too large to fit on a 200 door so therefore i think they are using an end panel or filler or fillet this is therefore howdens fault as the designer should know that there isnt a door in the shaker style to fit 200 if there is enough room perhaps you could either change the cupboard to a 300 or ask them to give you a 300 door and slice it down evenly on all sides to fit the 200 (not sure if that would work but worth a try) failing all else its gonna have to be a wine rack or perhaps open unit with two small baskets ? or perhaps a brushed steel effect door if that fits in with your appliances or even a glass door. Hope this heps

They have said they will resolve so you need to give them a chance.

    What are you wanting OP?

A kitchen with matching doors, if this is not possible and their designer planned it without product knowledge what then.I will give them a chance to rectify the problem but it seems this may not be possible what do I do then ?

You go for the next best alternative solution for that one unit, eg wine rack of something else that will fit a gap of approx 8 inches. Because the solution you are hoping for is unlikely to occur
