Blackpool Ideas

Hello all,

I am going to Blackpool next weekend for 3 days with my OH. I am looking for some things to do, I am currently 10 weeks pregnant so dont fancy going to pubs/discos and I cant go on the rides at the pleasure beach!!!

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

  • How about the Hot Ice show (Ice skating) Pleasure Beach. I am hoping to go in a couple weeks. The matinee show is just £10.

The Grand Theatre will have the show 'Keeping up Appearances' on Friday and Saturday (23rd + 24th). Written by the original TV show writer. blackpoolgrand . co . uk for more information.

Blackpool Tower Ballroom has an evening of dance on the 24th featuring Flavia and Vincent from the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing'

Mookys Eastern Promise is the show at the Tower Circus.

Trams are running back through to Fleetwood now, so worth a ride!

A short ride out to Pilling - 30 mins or so - and you'll find Pilling Pottery and the opportunity to either have a go or buy some gorgeous things!!!! Then, if you're over that way, Walling's Farm at Cockerham has a gorgeous pudding shop and ice cream factory!

    loads to do!

If you get a nice hot day a walk round Stanley Park in nice. There are a number of buses that go from the town centre although Iv often easily walked it.

If your that way and not too bothered about cost the zoo is very nice and is lovely to stroll around.

Have a wander down the promenade (although unfortunately the new tramway means the odd bit of work being done) and wander down the piers. I live here and its sometimes a bit cheesy and I hate paying for much on them but a walk down them is quite romantic.

If you can get to Cleveleys, just slightly up north, you can get down there on the buses, then there's a nice row of shops and cafe's leading up to the beach and then you can wander along the prom heading north and there is a cute little beachside cafe although not cheap...

Also if you do get buses anywhere by the time you've paid for a return ticket you may as well get a day return, its £3.95 or if you go in any newsagents and ask for a day Metro £3 for all day travel anywhere over the fylde coast on the Metro buses (95% of buses are metro).

St annes and Lytham are also really nice and if you want a nice meal out in the evening this is definatly the place to go. Not loads going on but really pretty and up market.
