Parents being evicted

Hi All,

i lurk alot here and im after some advice.

I'm currently living with my parents with my partner, I recently found a letter which was an eviction notice for in a couple of weeks time. :(

To set the scene, me and my partner dont have any savings as we are paying big amounts towards a loan we have to try and get it cleared asap. (admittedly probably abit more than we can handle now)

I cant go into branch and speak to anyone as my account is with collections, with it being with collections chances are we wont be able to loan anymore money so we could rent somewhere cheap.

just wondering what peoples general thoughts where and what steps they would take ?
Loan : £9,949
Overdrafts : £1,500

Who is the Landlord? Council, housing association, private landlord, mortgage company?

What sort of eviction notice? What sort of headed paper? Is it a court? Or what?

I totally fail to understand the situation. Apart from Pasture's Qs above:
I assume your parents are the tenants?
    What type of contract? Length?
Eviction reason? End of contract? rent arrears? using drugs on the premises?
What 'branch' are you talking about? Mortgage building Society? (but I though it was a rental not a mortgage?)
Are you more concerned about where you'll live? Or about your parents? Or about how to fight the eviction? Or ..... ? well, I could go on....

Are you worried about you or your parents or both? Why are you posting on the Housing board if your worry is your debt? Try the Debt-free Wannabe board.

To be honest, my first thought was 'What on earth were you doing snooping through their mail?'

When you find this 'somewhere cheap' are you taking your parents with you?

If you want the forum members to help, you need to provide a lot more information as per the above questions as it depends where they are in the eviction cycle, the type of tenancy and landlord (private or social housing).

If you are not comfortable with this, contact Shelter and see the information on their website about how a tenancy can be ended and how to prevent homelessness.
