Just heard from the Estate Agent and I should be exchanging contracts on my first home next week. :j

Well firstly I'd be checking that statement with my solicitor - as they're much more "in the know" as to where things are at that the EA.
On exchange day your solicitor will call to check you're definately ok with everything as once you say "yes" its all legally binding.
Also, have you discussed with your solicitor and the other side and agreed a completion date? If so, once exchanged you can now start working towards that date in terms of removals companies, notifying utilities etc etc.0
