Nat West review of credit score

Hi,
A friend has just had her Nat West card cancelled even though she has never done anything wrong on the account. She had it refused when she tried to use it and when she contacted Nat West she was told the Royal Bank of Scotland (have they taken it over or something?) were rechecking all customers' credit scores and if they did not come up to new standards they were having their accounts closed. She was not informed of this by the bank but only found out when the card was refused having already been cancelled. The bank told her they were not informing people in case they abused the card before it could be cancelled. I have a Nat West card which I haven't used for some time so I am worried I will be refused if I try and use it. Has any one else come across this or has my friend misunderstood - although the end result is she still doesn't have a Nat west card anymore?

Do you know if the card had a zero balance, and if so do you know for how long?0

She paid it off every month in full but used it regularly.0

Thats really interesting....
Its been known to happen if a card is dormant for quite a while, but not active and regularly used.0 -
I got a letter from NatWest the other week saying they were ugrading my card to a gold account, so hopefully this means they are planning on keeping my card active.0

did your friend have any late payments on other accounts or credit?
, even a late payment on a phone bill etc, in the last few months?0 -
Hi,
I'm not sure about the bills and late payments on other cards - I'll ask her. But knowing the sort of person she is I'd be surprised if she had.0
