I must admit I enjoyed the snow earlier this year for that very reason - pj's, a real fire and a glass of red just push all the right buttons for me.

Tonight for tea I made some scrummy mini sausage rolls - just bite sized and the pastry turned out just right...new potatoes with butter doing the melty thing and some peas and mangetout from the garden....yums.

I've got a massive case of the hicups!

I'm having for tea salmon fishcakes and some veg. Trying soo hard to be healthy.

Pooky, how is your daughters foot?

I love snow for the very same reason, being snuggled up under the duvet on the sofa, with a good book and a glass of red. Bring on the snow nexy year that#s what I say!

Not great - no swelling, a nice bruise but still can't put it to the floor....I was reading about sprains earlier and didn't realise how long they can take to heal.

DD1 is on a laptop ban and grounding for her cheek over the weekend and is driving me scatty with her huffy "I'm soooooooo bored - it's not fair" act...I've just told her to go write a CV and a letter of introduction and start job hunting....she turns 15 in November so can do some short hours.

Oh Penn and Teller - are they still going? They were quite big back in the early 90's weren't they?

I was working weekends when I was 13 and loved the money, she needs a bit of a push away from the whole "my friends are my life" thing and actually find out that she's able to do things on her own. There should be plenty of part time summer jobs she can do - one of the advantages of living in a sea-side town is the summer jobs.

I'm drinking rum and coke, drowned in ice and lemon and lime...it's to die for.
