We are planning to fit a new kitchen in the next six month (up to 4k) but was thinking to delay closer to the vat rates going up (4th jan11), do you think there will be good offers before xmas? (as most of the sales falls on the same week as the rise)

I decided to go for it now - there's loads of brill deals about and it might just be me but I'd rather have my kitchen in a mess in the summer than the winter.Target of wind & watertight by Sept 20110

Yes I am looking at the deals at the mom (Wicks etc') but we are moving room by room in our refit and the Kitchen is the last room but the most expensive (tho I can't see us spend more than 4k ), I rather do it in the summer as well but if there will be some massive stock clerances before the Vat goes up I will probably wait. I am told it is easier to find a fitter in the Winter , not sure this is true tho.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

I wouldnt be thinking about the kitchen as such, I would be thinking about the fitter! If you use someone who is VAT registered they will not be able to carry the increase in VAT. Personally, I would not be putting it off as the good tradesmen will be booked up in advance.0
