Budget about £300 for extra bills, not including food.

Utilities will depend on size of property rented, you can easily find out how much council tax is online.

Gas/electric for a small, efficient property should be well under £100 per month - I pay this amount for a 4 bed detached / 3 adults, yours would be a fair bit less, say £50-£60.

Water may/may not be metered - if it's metred it should be relatively inexpensive for a single person, I pay £50 per month and the washer always seems to be on!

Insurance will need to be taken out, get quotes and not just from comparison sites, I have direct line and it costs me £14.34 for building and contents.

Then there's telephone, if you have one. TV licence about £12 per month.

Without council tax it will be about £120 to £140 including telephone
