Probably a really silly question but...

How would I know if the compost I grew my potatoes in was diseased?

I am building raised beds tomorrow (after a 140 mile round trip to get my reclaimed scaffold boards!) and I was going to mix in the old compost with my new stuff I have been reading threads on here for the last 3 hours and no I am really panicking just in case there may be disease in my compost.

As far as I could tell my potatoes were fine (well they tasted lovely!:D :j :D) the leaves on the plants themselves went slightly yellow but I wouldn't know what else to look for :o??

Thanks for any advice

It will be fine, but it will be a good idea to not grow any of the potato family in the same compost for a year or so.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
