My friend WB combi is 4 yrs old and it was power flushed on installation. Is it possible that she needs another one so soon? She has homecare 200, she had a few leaks on radiators, engineer told her unless she has a power flush she will have to pay if she calls them. Thanks

Could be she needs another, but then it is BG's answer/cop out to everything these days.
Sadly we can't tell from here.0 -
If you had a Powerflush through British Gas and it needs doing again then they should do it for free. I got a quote 3 weeks ago and that is part of the deal.0

We've had a quote from British Gas for power flush plus magna booster for £770 . It's guaranteed as long as we stay on their Home Care agreement (£23 per month) and they will do any further powerflushing for free, but if we leave Home Care they will only guarantee the work for one year. So it's not a lifetime guarantee.
I've had a quote for £600 and another for £400 for the same work.
Both of these companies guarantee for 5 years as long as we fit the magnaclean.
(Our boiler is a Potterton conventional around 10 years old)
The only good thing about the B Gas quote is that if they come across something that needs doing during the power flush, then this can often be corrected under the Home Care agreement for free. For example, I've heard sometimes the heating exchanger needs replacing during a power flush.
Am in a bit of a quandary. Obviously B Gas is expensive but they might repair other things for free. Any thoughts very welcome.0
