Quote for laying laminate flooring - does this sound reasonable?

Hi all,
We're having laminate laid in our open plan lounge, kitchen and diner. The room/s is about 28 m sq in total. We are being quoted £10 sq. m. including removing the old skirting board before laying the floors, and attaching new skirting after the floor is in place. We supply all materials.
Does this sounds reasonable? We're in the South-East.
Thanks,
Bella

Actually, strike that - the chap just told me that removing and replacing the skirting would be extra cost, so the quote is just for beading around the existing skirting....0

Hi all,
I'm bumping this up, as could really do with advice on cost of laying laminate -I have no idea what the going rate is, so don't know if £10 sq. m. is a reasonable price to pay....
Would be really grateful to hear from anyone who's had a similar job done recently, or someone who fits floors for a living.
Thanks,

I can say im in Leic and had mine done by a very nice chap for £6psm fitting including the beadingMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
£10 sq m is a very good price.0

£10 per sq metre, unless its a complicated layout why not try it yourself? does that price include the laminate floor?0
-
No, only includes the labour. It's not too complicated a layout, but there's quite a bit of cutting in to do, and we want it to look neat...0
-
Yes that would sound right and £10 a metre is a good price. In fact its so good I'd go for the remove skirting option - its preferable to beading and much neater even if at additional cost. I presume he's also undercutting the architrave and trimming any doors?Actually, strike that - the chap just told me that removing and replacing the skirting would be extra cost, so the quote is just for beading around the existing skirting....

Thanks, keystone. Yes, they are undercutting and trimming as needed.

I live in leic, am a chippie and you wouldn't get me round to do that work for any less than £10m2. Nobody's having your pants down there, get what you pay for remember.0
