need help with calculating bills please :)

hi, i need some help!

my boyfriend is in the army and will shortly be moving to Catterick, as we are not yet married we can't live in married quarters but are really desperate to move in together, we have found a small one bed flat for around 350pm and are just wondering how much gas, electricity, council tax and any other bills i cant think of at the moment will cost! if it helps we will both be at work 5 days a week and will be in evenings. my boyfriend is always hot lol so wont use much heating, it'll more than likely be the tumble drier and washing machine that gets used alot, plus baths and showers.
this will be the first time we have ever lived on our own and really have no idea lol.

thanks xx

Have neither of you ever lived with parents?

Neither of you have any friends?

(I apologise, I find it very strange whenever this question is asked.)

Have a google on the web to find what your local authority charges for council tax in each band.

Gas and electricity are anything from £30 to £75 to £110 for both. And, yes, it varies that much from one household to the other. The important thing to do is to locate your meters, read your meters, and keep an eye on what your consumption is and estimate what that will cost. If you're happy/unhappy with use/cost/comfort adjust as necessary.

As a starter stick your future postcode and 20500kWh for gas and 3000 kWh for electricity in a comparison site and see what an average dual fuel useage will cost in your region.

Don't forget to add water bills, phone bills, and broadband bills as well.
