House Renting

We have had our house up for sale for over 2yrs :-( now we are thinking of renting property and buying something else, but unsure where to start, we only have 5yrs of our current mortgage to run so we have equity in the property, we are also unsure of how to go about renting although a few people in work have approached me regarding renting my property should I do it privately or use a rental company.
