Attn Whisky Drinkers

Looking for some advice on Whisky to buy

Have only recently started drinking Whisky

Stated off the usual route buying the supermarket own brand and by chance tried some Grants which was on offer at the time and discovered it was a lot more smoother to drink than the supermarket stuff

The price offers have now run out

Can anyone suggest a similar smooth Whisky to Grants

Thanks

Try Famous Grouse - much much nicer than Grants. IMO avoid Teachers.

I personally prefer a malt whisky - Scapa is my favorite but Macallan comes a close second :)

We went to the famous Grouse distillery last year great day out, they put the whiskey in casks that are ex Spanish Sherry Oak Casks.
Although they said F.G never did it supermarket's buy up surplus whiskey so you never know whats in the bottle it could be a good one or poor one.

Hubby says that its all down to personal choice you either like a blended (various whiskeys mixed together) or single malt.

We have a bottle of Laphroaig quarter cask uncle loves it, but it has a smokey smell to it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Try the differences between single malt and blended to see what you like

Took the advice re the Famous Grouse and purchased a bottle lunchtime.

Will have a small tipple tonight and see what its like.

I think single malts may be out of the question looking at the prices of them on the supermarket sites they are quite expensive

Try Jameson's Irish whiskey if you can see it on a special offer - triple distilled so very smooth indeed.
Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

Try Aldi, they often have deals on single malts. They have a very nice Glen Moray really cheap at the moment.

I know what you are all doing. Keeping the best blend to yourselves. Whyte & Mackay. Lovely smooth tipple. Their Master blender Richard Patterson is legendary in the business. See his bio.
