Regional Variations

I received a mailshot from British Gas this morning detailing why they are going to increase their prices and about their Energy Savers Pack.

Unusually for me - I sat and read through the booklet in reasonable detail and was surprised to find that costs for electricity vary considerably according to which region you are in! For example - the price per kwh on a standard tariff varies from 17.040 with local area 19 (Seeboard) to 22.768 if you are in local area 21 (SWALEC). Why does it vary so much when its all supplied by British Gas? am I missing something here?

Mine is 20.021

Thanks

Celia
