I am trying to setup a wireless network at home. I have a 3com wireless router, which is connected to my PC via an ethernet cable. My laptop is linked via a LAN USB dongle.
The connection to the internet is always breaking, due to low signal, despite the laptop being about 10 metres away, in the same house.
My PC has to remain where it is. Can the router be setup so that a wireless connection can be used on both my PC and my laptop? Or does the router have to be connected to the PC?
I would be greatful for any advice on this subject.
Does anyone else have similar problems with 3com wireless router?

Try adifferent wireless channel - you may be getting interference.
Yes you can connect both the pc and laptop wirelessly to the router. For the pc you'll need another usb dongle or (better still) fit an internal wireless pci card.

Your signal may be getting interference from another wireless router or another device that uses similar frequencies like a cordless phone or video sender. Have you tried changing the wireless channel? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

It's always handy and more secure to have a wired connection available.
See the bit about netstumbler in this faq, regarding your dropouts.
