Furminator - Cheap eBay ones any good?

Hi everyone
I have been thinking of buying a Furminator after seeing lots of people raving about them on here. But I don't really want to pay a fortune for one as my dog is a "non shedding" breed, some of the lists say it is suitable for and others don't - so I don't want to shell out lots and then it makes no difference to his coat.
I thought I would have a look on eBay and they are SO cheap!!

A medium one is about £4.29 inc p&p from Hong Kong they have mainly good feedback. Surely they are a cheap copy for that price has any one bought one of these from eBay? Was it any good? Also - even if it's not genuine wouldn't it just work the same anyway? I don't want to damage his coat or hurt him or anything!

Thanks!

Mine is a genuine one from ebay, I paid £6.70 including postage and it works really well so I consider it a bargain.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

I bought one from e-bay at a similar price- it works fine and the cat loves it
Every time life knocks me down, I just stay on the ground for a bit and look up at the sky for a while. Eventually I get up and have a cup of tea.0 -
I got mine from Amazon, paid about £4.00 for it and it is a genuine one too.
My border collie loves it, as does the little cat.. The other dog and cat aren't that bothered over it..:DMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

I haven't got a furminator but was reccommended to use a horse shedder on my springer spaniel, by the lady that ran the local puppy class. It works on the same principle by removing dead undercoat and is brilliant. My dog loves it and even though it's for a horse it's not very big.
You can buy them from most animal stores. I've just found one for dogs on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dog-cat-stripping-comb-knife-blade-shedding-moulting-/190391345870?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Cats&var=&hash=item7216776fca
Its the looped tool on the left of the row.
Like the ferminator it has tiny teeth which get underneath the dogs coat. It also unclips to one length so that you can use two hands simulaneously to brush your dog - using it like this also removes water from their coat after a swim.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0 -
I bought one from Amazon and paid nearly £20 including postage (large size) - the best £20 I have ever spent on grooming product as it is the only one that ctually aorks on Zara's long fur....0

Just furminated our boy again - seems even if I do it every day, I still get a huge hairball from him... surprised he's not bald lol. Washed him first this time, soft and fluffy now.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit
