I seem to have got confused somewhere... in the tip a few weeks back it said it was time to change Gas & Elec provider, so off I went to price comparison websites and found what was the cheapest... British Gas (amazingly). Surprised, but convinced I went ahead with the switch, only to be informed by nPower (who I'm in the process of leaving) and now the latest tip that BG just put their prices up... would my switching price have included that rise or not? If not, according to nPower, BG are now the most expensive... DOH!

AAARRRGH, I'm confused! :(

Depends which site you used. Try ukpower for accurate up to date information.

I'm in the same position and also confused.

I've today had my transfer letter from BG click...they quote me prices 'as at 1st July 2006'. What's the point to them doing that, on a letter dated Sept 6th ( i.e. post price-rise)!!

Martin's originial article about comparison sites say's that comparisons include price rises as soon as they're announced..but clearly...this doesn't seem to be the case. No wonder I get BG as my best supplier on all the comparison sites, when they're still on their old prices.

The BG website does, however, indicate that new signups have their prices held to pre-SEpt 06 levels...but i can't get to speak to anyone to find if this applies to me!!!

    Frustrated of MSE World!

I think that BG click prices did not rise in line with the latest BG price increases.
