Ordered three appliances from Co-op

Thought I'd pass along my experience...
All too happy for an excuse to replace our WORTHLESS Hoover washer and dryer, we decided that rather than move them 400 miles to Scotland, we'd get new ones from Bosch. We already needed to buy a fridge freezer, anyway. So, we got all three appliances from Co-op online. Perhaps a better deal could have been found by shopping around the shops, but we're living in the Western Highlands where shops are 2 hours away, and £20 flat delivery fee sounded pretty good.
I believe their prices were as good as or better than anything else we found online, particularly when factoring in delivery. I think we paid £650 or so for all three things together.
They only deliver on Tuesdays up here, and we made the first of our two van trips up to coincide with the delivery. All three appliances arrived at the same time. However, I didn't notice until the truck drove off that they'd sent us the wrong fridge. It was a Bosch, but it was much smaller than I'd wanted and had a tiny fridge on top rather than two generous drawers on bottom like the one I'd chosen. Why didn't I notice this right away? Well, there *were* three major appliances arriving at once!
Anyway, I called Co-op and they said they could see the source of the mistake. A model-number mix-up in the warehouse... They could come and swap them the following Tuesday. "But, I won't be here next Tuesday! I'll be back in England!" The following Tuesday, then. "OK, but can I use this one in the meantime?" "No. I'm afraid you can't. You can't even plug it in. It has to be returned new and unused." "Well, where do we put our food?!" Anyway, I ended up feeling forced to agree to accept what they'd sent (they refunded the difference in price and the delivery fee.)
Every time I looked at that thing, I got angry! It was so small! And, we're an hour away from Tesco! I need more freezer space! Also, neither of us liked having to stoop down to peer inside the fridge for milk and stuff. It was ridiculous. I finally called them again and said, "Look, I've tried to live with this. I just can't deal with it. I cannot live with this fridge freezer!" This time, I got to speak to a manager and she agreed to swap them! Even though I'd used the first one.
They came yesterday with the correct model and swapped them out, no problem. I am much, much happier.
So, instead of writing a post saying "Don't order anything from Co-op Electrical online!" I can tell you that I had a good experience and got decent service with excellent value. I don't hold a simple mix-up against them, but I would have really held a grudge if they'd not agreed to let me use the wrong fridge for the two weeks it took for them to correct their mistake!

I have ordered many electrical appliances from the Co-op and can vouch that they are very competitive on price. Our local Coventry Co-op department store, Rooms even offers a small discout and free delivery for Society members.
Cheers
