DLA Complaint - HOW?

In October we submitted a DLA request to review our DLA award for our 4 year old. It was rejected and we asked for it to go to tribunial

On Friday, we finally managed to speak to somebody and asked when we were likely to go to the hearing

The response we got was shocking. they stated that they were awaiting information from us! THEY most certainly ARE NOT was our reply.

We have records of dates of when stuff was sent and it has been done with the help of the CAB

This is wholly unacceptable and I wish to make a formal complaint

How and to whom/where do we complain

What information do they say they are waiting for? Is it the DWP that are asking for the information, or the Tribunal?

Did you send these documents by recorded delivery?

Its the DWP who are awaiting the info

once we informed them on the phone that we had sent the evidence in and via recorded delivery she went all sheepish and said

    "o, yes, its all here"

I has basically just sat on their system since October

OK, so they do have the evidence?

Have you not chased it up before now?

    They DO have the evidence

We have not chased it before now as are a little tied up with the amount of hospital visits we undertake with our DD.

In truth, I expected a delay of sorts, and mabe, just maybe we should have checked but that said if THEY were awaiting data you would have thought they would have writen asking for it

You can complain and they might say sorry you aren't happy.

Thats it though.....9 months later you managed to phone someone?

i dont think complaining would do much.. its a government dept after all

they would probably just say that you should have called them sooner than 9 months (assuming you hadnt contacted them since october 09)
