My first post on this forum. I had a 0 feedback bidding on my item I emailed him nicely to ask if he intends to purchase he replied very quickly saying that they are serious and that they are awaiting feedback for 7 items and have couple of accounts until they were closed down ,so I just did not cancel his bid.I had to wait 9 days when he marked the item payment sent on 15th of August waited another few days before letting him know gently that I have not reeived payment, waited another week and asked him politely if he was still interested in the item as it is my best seller and out of stock I was only holding the last one for him.no replies i finally started the NPB process to which he replied today that item has already been paid for cheque is showing cashed in his bank account and cheque no is 9999999 and paid to egg head(not my user name) for £2.98. The item was worth £4.98 and the cheqe no. does not seem valid to me.I have just started earning living on ebay and do not know how to proceed shall I close the dispute now it was opened about 7 days ago.Help on this will be highly appreciated thanks.

This is a normal tactic by a non payer. Just carry on with your NPB and the next time don't bother chasing them up (I used to do it..total waste of time). Just wait the appropriate times and start your NPB on day 7 or 8 and follow it through.
It is just not worth the stress!!0 -
I agree with the above poster. Start the unpaid item dispute as soon as possible. It isn't worth chasing buyers.
The buyer is just wasting your time.
I guess this is why his other accounts were closed down.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Thanks for your replies I will continue with the unpaid item process.I would not normally chase but I had some people who paid after 3-5 weeks even when I had closed the disputes to which they did not respond to,if the item was out of stock at that time I would risk a NPS and my feedback is everything to me as thats the only thing giving me an edge over my competitors in my line of buisness.
I have another question if you could please help me with that recently a competitor with a very high good feedback bought three of my items when I checked she was selling the same stuff I was very puzzled why would she buy from me when she has got the same kind of stuff even cheaper than my items,I have sent the goods out as I would risk bad feedback otherwise I was tempted to refund her money though .I'm useless in situations like these Please advise you all are very kind bunch here, help me establish this on ebay properly I have done well so far but do not know all the facts,to survive.0
