I second the college idea. My mum and my sister both did a floristry course (for their own enjoyment, not to get qualified for business reasons) and there may be students there who are keen to help out and get some extra practice.
Failing that - maybe contact the local paper and say "i've been let down....." they might do a story on you, someone feels sorry for you and offers you an amazing deal???Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Thank you all for your ideas and input, really appreciate it, makes me feel like I'm not trying to sort it out on my own iykwim. OH just said, oh well, there's always Tesco!
The lady let me down because she has her grandchildren coming to stay and only just found out for definite they were coming. Can't say I'm too impressed with that excuse but wasn't going to make a fuss, wouldn't have made any difference.
Dizzy - I like that Newspaper idea, if only I'd thought of that sooner, lol.
Anyway, I've paid the £411 for them now. The man who's doing them is lovely, he was so nice to me because I explained that I wasn't just rushing things at last minute and had been let down by someone. He told me to take a valium and have some gin and he would do everything for me and not to worry. I'm having hot pink and white roses and he gave me some samples to take home (he actually handed them to my baby who tried to eat them!) and they are in a vase looking lovely.
I didn't mention in my original post that my cake lady also let me down on the same day! She's pregnant, working full time and has terrible morning sickness and said she doesn't think she's going to be up to it anymore. I actually thought I was going to have a break down! I decided to concentrate on the flowers and have chosen cupcakes from M & S that are fine, not as good as hand made but I'm past caring about bloody cakes now!
Thanks again everyone, let's hope no one else lets me down...! xx2010 Comp wins: Lamaze baby toy, Cushelle koala, Frusli bars, knitted monkey, nursery rhyme DVD
Christmas sorted for my LO (apart from Frusli bars - they're mine!)0

Glad you got it sorted Sezzie - sounds like you're having a bit of a nightmare...!!
The cupcakes will be lovely though - they sound cool....and at least with M&S you know that the quality will be there!! xWhy does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved!
