MBT trainers

I sent for 2 pairs - sandals and trainers - following foot surgery and being advised they would help my recovery. They arrived but the sandals just did not fit.
When i asked about returning them, I was told it would be very expensive and why didn't I gift them to a friend!

They advertise as MBTUK but they seem to work from China. Any ideas, anyone?

I too have bought some MBT Trainers online. Not sure how true it is but I have heard that you can't buy them online from the UK as the makers specially train the fitters for them as they have strange sizings or something.

Anyhow, They do come up v big as I am usually a female size 9 and took a gamble at ordering a mens 8.5 - I was lucky that it was ok as I too didn't want the palarver of sending them back. I think mine were £119 from MBT Sale and they came from Shanghi.

I'm not sure how they would cost to send back as they are heavy, so maybe it might be worth looking at the returns policy on their website. At the end of the day if they say they accept returns I can't see it being a problem.

Saying that I know they do seem to sell well on Ebay - so maybe that would be a possibility.

Your complaint does not appear to be about MBT trainers, but rather a dodgy retailer in China?
    Gone ... or have I?

I understand why they told you "returning them would be very expensive".
You have to pay 40USD, plus 25% of the purchase price, plus return carriage to them.

How much did you pay for the sandals?

I have just been on the MTB UK website and like I said, they do not sell them direct. http://uk.mbt.com/

    This is what it says:-
Can I buy MBTs online, through mail order or over the telephone?

Here at MBT, we want to ensure that you are fitted correctly in order to get the full benefits from the technology in the sole. We therefore do not sell our product online, but instead ensure that our retailers are trained on a regular basis to provide an individual fitting service for you and show you how to stand and walk best in MBTs.

So you must have gone through one of their recommended stockists, so you would need to check their website.

edit. I think the pp may have found the stockist that you probably used. I think Ebay would be your best bet.

OP. which website did you use?
  • ahh the MBT trainers, why does anyone actually buy them??

You do realise that if you wear them you will have trouble ever wearing normal shoes once your foot and leg muscles adjust to them? The funniest bit about them is that they start quoting "scientific studies" and give links to the papers but when you actually read them they are not at all saying they are any good.

They are based in China not Austrailia, that's why they quote the prices in USD, also, if they were uk based the price would be in GBP.

I bought mine from millets, online and for about the same price. regarding if they are good or not I should point out that they cured my sciatica and that it is not necessary to wear them all the time. Changing shoes is actually very good for your leg muscles. Start slowley and wear them for short periods only at first to get used to them.

They really do help with bad backs and posture issues.

    OP,
Out of interest, were they just not the right size, or did you find them uncomfortable? I just bought Kisumus and am not at all happy with the comfort.

If they're the wrong size then you're probably better off selling them on ebay.

If they came from China then you've wasted your money. Throw them in the bin.

Next time you buy online check out the credentials of the company you're dealing with.
