Selling vintage champagne - any ideas?

I have a vintage bottle of champagne to sell. I put it on Ebay, but it was removed due to violation. After an online chat with Ebay I found out that they don't allow champagne to be sold. Fair enough. Bit annoying though because there's a lot of other sellers selling it. When I pointed this out, the online help said I should report all the other auctions! I told her that I didn't think it was my job to police their site.

Anyway. That aside. Does anyone have any ideas as to an alternative way to sell it? It's worth in the region of £100, and ideally I would like to sell it soon because it's a 1992 bottle and therefore good for an 18th birthday present.

I don't think there's any way you can legally sell it unless you have a licence, is there?

A bricks and mortar auction house is usually less fussy about who they will sell alcohol for and who they will not. Find a local one and see if they are interested, however don't expect a great deal of money for it as most people will only buy an expensive champagne if they know it has been kept properly. Kept in a cupboard or a wine rack a champagne may last as little as a year before it deteriorates.

    Agreed, it's a specialist purchase.
