Need help adding music to PPT 97-03 in compatible mode using 2007?

I am making a powerpoint presentation that I need to add music to. The powerpoint is a 97-03 version as although I 2007 on my computer the place I need to play it only has 97-03 so I have it open in compatible mode at the moment. But I can't find anyway to add music, all the movies and sound options are unclickable in compatible mode!
Anyone help?
