Hi techies I am really not a techie which is why I need you help. My PC screen has started to flicker when it is first switched on. It is a Sony flat screen and does it everytime I turn it on but settles down after a few minutes. I have checked all the cables are pushed in correctly but do not have a clue what to next. Please help me:o

From what i've read, try disabling the monitors power saving.. other users have complained of a flicker on this monitor when that kicks in.0

I have a horrible feeling by "flicker" you mean....jump, certainly more than just flicker caused by refresh rates etc....especially at start up (warm up lol)....my mates monitor did the same thing for a while.....then died....I don't want to be a scaremongerer, but after you've checked all the connections, made sure video card is "well seated" in PC and finally tested the monitor on someone elses pc....i think its time to look out your receipt and check exactly what warranty you have on the system....really hope its refresh rate or loose connections.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Thanks both of you, I did say to OH that I think it is on it's way out - not very old I don't think. I'll try all your ideas especially trying on another pc and I'll look out the receiptThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Forgot to say that it is only the lower half of the screen which is doing thisThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Just to let you all know screen is still working. OH fiddled about with all the cables and now it just flickers a little bit when first put on. It is much older than I thought, time passes very quickly as you get older. Thanks for all your help at the time. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

They come with a 3 year warranty from sony so you could get it repaired if its stil within 3 years. contact sony and see what they say.0
