  • I've just realised I sound like a complete wino! I found some cake too in the fridge so will be doubley naughty :rotfl:
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • Cheers HB, I know, I know ... worse thing is the boys would help out with a bit of gentle encouragement. They just can't read my mind unfortunatley ;)

I'm going to get them to finish off the dinner when they come in - they like doing to veg bit. DH is brilliant in the evenings for sorting everyone out so I can chill out tonight.

Tomorrow I will get them to do the washing up and keep the kitchen fairly clear all day. This will let me finish the first assigment. It will be burgers and picky salad for tea so they can manage that too.

That just leaves me with one trip to pick DS up and then the ironing - which weirdly I like doing as it relaxes me. I can do that tomorrow evening to keep the wine thoughts in the fridge where they belong on a school night.

See - it will be easy :)

  • I need to start with some positive thoughts

    * We are all well at Pen Towers
    * My jobs are going ok and one is even throwing OT at me (will help with the roof fund)
    * I have got back into my OU course and am 1/3 of the way through the next assignment
    * We are not overdrawn this month
    * The boys are gradually getting used to a few more chores, so whilst the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it tonight, I can ignore it as it will be sorted before I get back from work tomorrow
    * AF today and feeling ok for it

Off to find some rose tinted specs to block out the media and try and bring some internal sunshine back to blow away the clouds.

    Cheers HB

All good fun in our house tonight. Teenage boys playing up. Can't get the radio tuned in for local football. Is it rocket science? Roll on bedtime!

I've managed a no spend day which is good and I'm still managing to throw a few bits at the debt.

Work was fine and I've more overtime for tomorrow which is sad because I'll miss my day off but seeing as I'll be doing the school run anyway I might as well be at work too. At least its an out and about working day and not stuck in an office. It all helps towards the roof fund.

I do feel sunnier today, thankfully, I don't like it when I'm gloomy as its not really me. DH was getting worried about me, which is nice to know he's noticed, bless him.

So its onwards and upwards again with the debtbusting. As for the delegating - I only had to shout once to get the tea put on ;) but I think DS is going to be put out by the end of the week when he runs out of school shirts, cos if they don't find their way to the laundry basket they won't be clean.

    All good fun :D

  • Hey Pen,

Loving your positive diary! Even having those down days, you've picked yourself up and turned it around :T

Unfortunately men (bit it boys or men!) are not great at reading our minds....I remember OH once saying to me "you have to tell me what you want I can't read your mind"....I think he regrets the day he said that as I literally tell him now, more work for him ;):rotfl:

I think us ladies like to be in control of the house and everything, true to your saying, wonder women but sometimes it can be all consuming and overwhelming - that's when those little crying sessions help get it all out I think ;)

Keep up with the great positivity Pen!

    Choc, xx
  • Hiya Choc, nice to hear from you. Hope things are going well in your new place x

I'm off work sick today and I hate it. DS has kindly shared his cold with me and I didn't manage to surface until lunchtime. Think I might go back to bed soon too.

No spends today then as I'm stuck indoors but I'm finding it so hard not to clothes shop on-line this afternoon. I've got that 'I'm poorly I need to treat myself' head on. But the grim reality is I've a wardrobe full of clothes and don't urgently need anything, so the only thing I will be treating is the shop with my hard earned money!

The boys have been brilliant today, left me to sleep until lunchtime - went up the shops for milk etc, did their own lunches and are keeping me supplied with hot tea (even though DS isn't feeling too well himself).

Can't be bothered with positive thoughts. I've set the tea up (caserole) for DH to put on when he comes back later and thats me for the day. I don't even fancy a wine :)

  • I'm feeling better today and have managed to get my second assignment done - so only the final one to get through now. I am so pleased and once I got my act together it was actually quite easy to do.

I did spend on groceries today but I'm still within budget.

The family have all been home and we've had a quiet day here (which is a blessing compared with our normal chaos). Lets hope the evening is just as peaceful as I fancy a nice quiet night in :)

  • Wide awake at 5am this morning, so up bright and early today. I'm doing my usual PJs and mug of tea slob to enjoy the peace before everyone else gets up. Still full of cold though which is tedious.

I need a to-do list to get me motivated today I think:

    * Small grocery shop with cash (forgot to get DS's cooking stuff yesterday)
    * Get rid of the broken chest of drawers from the spare room
    * Quick hoover upstairs (or at least the rooms I can actually see the floor in)
    * Find some winter boots out for work next week - must be getting colder!
    * De-clutter the livingroom and our bedroom

Hopefully DS is feeling a bit better and wants to go out with his mates. Its driving me stir crazy with everyone stuck at home feeling poorly. I can't cope with any more bloke TV!
