I could have had a nice lie in this morning, but no I woke up at 5am and that was that! So a few cups of tea later and a load of paperwork out of the way perhaps I ought to get out of my PJ's now
I've booked a hair appointment for today, its just and just lasted until I'd stashed back enough money to get it done - it will be nice to be able to see out of my fringe again. I can leave the boys at home with the football and just chill out in the hairdressers for an hour or so.
Other than that I need to blitz the kitchen and then I want to carry on de-cluttering our bedroom. After being at home or in the caravan over the summer holidays rather than at work, I now know exactly what clothes I do and don't wear and there is an awful lot of stuff that can go to charity. I have a really big pile of summer daps/sandals and flipflops - of which I've worn the same 3 pairs all summer. It will be really nice to have a minimal wardrobe to use again. If I do the summer stuff now ready to put the good bits back for next year, then I will have some space for my jumpers etc.
Nobody else has surfaced in the house yet so I think I'm going to hog the bathroom, plenty of nice smellies and a facepack are called for I thinkThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Busy few days as usual. Won a few minor victories with school
and work has been so so.
I had a training course last night and then a big meeting this morning. Re-arranged DS's room with a few new bits of furniture, did 4 loads of washing and the ironing in between. It will be nice to get back to work tomorrow for a rest.
Spends are so so too this week. I've not added to the debt but I've nothing left to spend until I get paid again.
Positive thoughts to keep me going
* The washing basket is empty
* I can now get into DS room
* DH is out so I have control of the remote
Very tired tonight so an early night is needed I think. Hopefully I'm not such a grumpy old bag tomorrow. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Oh why does real life take up so much of my time :rotfl:
Manically busy at Pen Towers at the moment. I feel like I do ten jobs not 2 and that's will DH at home helping out. Honestly I know I'm running on empty today and to top it off I've got a cold brewing.
Spend wise - ok, I'll admit it, I've ordered a couple cheap long sleeved tops for work (black as usual) and some flat hi top daps. I spend so much time running around now I can't see me wearing my normal healed boots. My life has changed so much from the old out shopping with the girls at the weekend, I almost can't believe it myself.
DH had some work today, totally different from what he used to do and he really suprised himself and me by enjoying it. It might not pay too well but he's got some pocket money for the weekend now. Lets hope some more comes along soon.
Grocery budget is going well now that I've stopped online shops. DS is lovely the variety of food as I am now in the shop to see the reduced stuff and bargains. My bill is almost half what it used to be, even allowing for a bit of wine.
Positive things to keep this smile going:
* Busy and manic but loving it
* We are still managing to pay the bills
* My day job is rolling along fine (fingers crossed)
* DH is so happy for being out and working today - he keeps grinning at me - feels good
I am getting a wee bit run down and DH is fretting about it, so this weekend I am going to try and slow down for a couple of days. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hey Pen - Please make sure you get a bit of rest at the weekend!!
Don't burn your self out. Everything always feels ten times more of a chore when you feel run down
Well done on doing so well with your grocery bill. We have been a bit slack in recording what we spend lately and i am sure we are going over it each month!

Cheers Kel, I am going to do as little as I can at the weekend but already it looks like I'll be driving all over the place again - typical. Anyway, its going to happen whatever so no point dwelling on it.
I managed to get on with some of my studies earlier which is good because I am so behind with it. I really hope I can catch up as I need to finish it all by mid October
So positive thoughts to get me through the next day or so:
* Lovely sunny weather so the washing is up to date.
* Will get paid some overtime tomorrow so I can finish off the Christmas fund.
* My flowers are still going well in the garden
* And the cats are learning not to dig them up
I'm going to chill out for the rest of the evening, might even see if I've a nice glass of white left in the fridge.
Roll on Friday and the weekendThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

I forgot I was taking things steady today, tried to be wonder woman and mrs house perfect. Even did a Tesco shop at lunchtime  Got to about 3pm realised I was completely shattered, nobody else was helping out and I promptly burst into tears.
So I stopped everything and just sat down with a cup of tea for a couple of hours.
I've done some thinking and I'm debating not finishing my OU course. Which is completely mad because I've only got two assignments and a bit of studying left but I can't work out what else to drop to give myself a break. My mind is going round in circles I think.
Anyway, I've cheered up a bit and back to the important stuff ...
Spendwise - it was a good shop and I stuck to cash and only buying what we need. I was very nearly tempted in the clothes section but managed to talk myself out of everything that caught my eye. The kitchen is now completely stocked up and I can't fit anything else into the freezer so we won't starve between now and Christmas even if the world does go crazy
Positive thoughts to get me through this evening.
* Grocery budget is going ok
* The lovely sun has dried all 4 loads of washing, just the towels still out there now
* My new daps arrived today and they are lush - all different colours and all snug and warm.
* The family are all happy so we should get away with a nice quiet evening in.
* I got a pork joint really cheap today so we are having pork roast tonight - its in the oven at the moment and really smells lovely.
My head is beginning to clear now, funny how this diary keeps me sane. I think I need to start delegating a little more of the household stuff to the rest of the family. DH is lovely and would help if I left him a list during the week but I don't find telling people what to do very easy. I might write a list of the weekly stuff that needs doing in a minute and see how to split it up.
Right then, time to stop whinging and time to stop being wonder women. This my positive diary! Perhaps I should see if there is any more white lingering in the fridge for later:D
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hi Pen
Have lurked on your diary for a bit & it occurs to me that if there as a bit more of this:penelopedee wrote: »I think I need to start delegating a little more of the household stuff to the rest of the family.
then maybe there wouldn't be a need for this?penelopedee wrote: »I've done some thinking and I'm debating not finishing my OU course.
