I haven't tried much of it but I really like the Anew pressed powder, I'm currently going for a different make up look so I haven't used it in a while but its very very similar to EL Doublewear powder and much cheaper:money:I ordered the serum this morning as well and as there were a couple of offers on I decided to try a glimmerstick eyeliner, I've read good reviews, and a plumping lip gloss that looks a very similar colour to a Revlon one that I like that has been discontinued, I'll let you know how I get on with them. I have tried some of their Anew skincare which didn't agree with me at all but in fairness this was before I realised I have a problem using mineral oil, I remember being pleased with the effect though before I came out in a reaction, I have also read good reviews about Avons hair care and also their nail varnishes but I haven't tried these myself, the real problem I find is delivery takes so long and costs so much and our local Avon Lady is neither pleasant or knowledgeable and lets just say her look is far from inspiring;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi Glowgirl, I used to use Avon years ago but not used it recently. I've already ordered the serum though, I am well impressed with that. Only thing with the make up is that its difficult to see the colours online or in a catalogue.

I am wondering about the glimmersticks eyeliner as its a twist up pencil and cheaper than the Clinique one I use (which is also very good). The Avon pressed bronzer looks OK too.

Let me know how you get on :)

Same here, well she's pleasant enough but that's about it..............and it matters, doesn't it?! Avon ladies who want to build their businesses take note!!

Our local Avon lady lives three doors away from me and in the five or so years that she's lived there, she's never so much as spoken or smiled when I've seen her (and I've smiled at her but had nothing back....) so if I want Avon, I order from the Avon lady who leaves a catalogue at my Mom's house :p

I tend to order shampoo, bubble bath and shower gels mostly, I'm a little wary of ordering the make up as I always wonder if the colours in the catalogue are true to the actual product.

I ordered a couple of things last year and wasn't too impressed with it all, but I'd be interested to hear what those who ordered things think of them when they arrive.

Speaking as an Avon Lady - soooo interesting to get 'customer' feedback. There is a no quibble money back or exchange policy with Avon. I encourage my customers to order as many products as they want in order to try out colours & will always return them cheerfully. Sorry some of you have a not so impressive Avon lady, I'll bear that in mind!!

I don't think we're talking "done up to the nine" here..........but certainly being neat, well groomed and looking like you use a little of what you sell gives more credibility imo!

Absolutely, joyfull, just out of interest do Avon ladies get any training re ingredients etc and are they kept up to date with whats going on or being developed in the beauty world? I might be a bit more knowledgeable then most but certainly no expert and I find my queries just met with blank faces and the standard "I'll have to get back to you on that" which is a shame cos I do like Avon and would probably be a good customer if I could find out what I need to before buying also I'm a sucker for a new product but not when I cant even discuss similarities to other products cos the sales person has never heard of such and such brand :wall:

    Hi Glowgirl,

We get no training about the products or ingredients (or I didn't 6 years ago). As a rep I receive a magazine each campaign (every 3 weeks) which details what's new with Avon & how best to sell it etc, however it does not go into comparisons with other brands. It doesn't surprise me that you get blank faces. I'm always slightly uncomfortable when customers question me in detail about Avon products, not only because I simply don't know the answer but would not know where to go to get the answer.

I've linked this thread with the Avon hint & tips thread in 'up your income'. there are some Avon Sales Leaders on there. Hopefully they might address this issue. I'd also be interested to hear others' views.

Someone sold me those products a few weeks ago. Never really have tried. What good products do they have by the way? I would love to try. :)
