Garden Ideas - Veggies

Hi There,

We are in the process of selling our car and downsizing to a cheaper model.
When this happens we will have £500 to spend on the garden. We would like to grow an abundance of fruit and veg, we have just moved to a house with a good sized garden and all lawned at present.

What would you do with this money?

We were thinking a greenhouse with polycarbonate (got a kid and dog) and some raised beds.

or would a poly tunnel be better?

Also My mum has a horse that we could get some manure from to put in the soil ready for planting. I have heard it needs to be well rotted, how long does it need to be left for?

Help!!

Thanks

Stacey

I would definately go for the greenhouse and raised beds...but raised beds are my preferred method of growing veggies so i would say that...and having my two upright 'plastic growhouses i can tell you straight off the bat that a greenhouse would be my dream come true. As for the rotted manure, i think it needs to be rotted for at least a year, maybe two. Well done on your downsizing endeavours!
