Hi - my 1st post, hopefully someone can answer thx.
IF I USE MY SANTANDER ZERO CREDIT CARD IN SPAIN.
There is no loading on it.
How would I find out what the currency exchange rate for this would be?
The exchange rate varies between 1.12Euros & 1.17Euros to the £ just now depending on where u go.
So as above, I am wondering where I can find out what the Santander exchange rate would be.
I phoned Santander and they didn't know !
Many thanks if anyone knows.

Though not the official rate, I've found Zero gives you a rate pretty much centred on on the rate at https://www.oanda.com (on the home page), at the time of writing 1.1918. Timing might might mean you get a bit more or less.
It will be better than "tourist rates" you might see published/displayed.0 -
You will get the Mastercard exchange rate (google it) for a Santander Zero card and the Visa exchange rate (google it) for a Nationwide debit or credit card. These are the two cards I use and I consistently get the best market rates available.0

You can't find out in advance what it is - it isn't set until the transaction actually goes through (which may be the next day or even later if the retailer is slow in putting his 'end of day' through)
http://www2.visaeurope.com/personal/travellingabroad/exchange.jsp will give an approximation - yes I know it's visa but it won't be much different.0 -
https://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/cardholderservices/currencyconversion/index.html is the Mastercard exchange rate0

If the place in Spain offers (or tries anyway) to bill you in UK£ refuse it and get them to charge you in Euros.
They will be offering a terrible exchange rate and pocketing the difference.
