Student finance & married people

Options
I am a lone parent in full time higher education and looking after 2 young children. I am getting married in December. My partner has just had his work hours reduced from 37.5 to 28 hours per week due to illness, in September 2011 he will also become a full time higher education student. My question regards student loans and grants. Which grants/loans will I still get from SLC?Will I be able to claim any housing benefit? Thanks

You will continue to get grants and loans from SLC. You might get some more, but it depends how you were assessed last time (based on your partners income), as you could already get full support.

When he goes he will get the same support (but full grants and loans assuming you stay unemployed/student).

    Not sure about Housing Benefit.
