£2 coins

Hi all, as you can see I am new here and have already been on the war-path for advice so I thought it would only be fair to part with a tip I have myself which I have found to work very well.

I have been collecting £2 coins for about 4 months now and have saved £140. Whenever I buy something, if I get change in a £2 coin I put it in a separate part of my bag, I have included some work friends too, I buy the £2 coins from them. It's really working, it's a fantastic way to save daily where you otherwise wouldn't!

Just thought I would share as I really really recommend!

Hope this helps anyone!

I save £2 when I get one. However, I think everyone else must be saving them too as I haven't had one in ages :rotfl:

I do this too but I save them in one of those tins that you can't get into without a tin opener. :D

^^As above. I have one of the tin-opener cans- it says it will hold £200 in pound coins when full. I put 1,2 and notes into it when I can- will be a nice pot to open someday!

I save them too, I've got three piggy banks (one for £2s, one for 20ps and one for everything else). The £2s are saved for a holiday.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I do the same but its all silver coins. It really mounts up but the pain is taking it to the bank as they'll only let you bank 5 bags at a time - I can never understand why as they don't need to count it just put it on a weighing scale.
2013 - Finally got the house we' ve worked so hard to get......now it's a life of diy and no money....couldn't be happier 😊
2020 - mortgage free target set 8 years and counting 🎯
Even the longest walks start with one small step....get your boots on.

We save £2 coins too, plus some £1's and when really flush notes. We've got one of those pretty pots from Clintons that you have to crack open.
 Think happy & you'll be happy
