Greek Islands or Canaries Mid to Late September?

I am looking to book a 2 week holiday from 18th September onwards and was wondering what the weather is like in the Greek Islands or the Canaries in Mid to Late September?

Does anyone have any recommendations of which islands to go to or where to stay.

My husband and I have both been to Rhodes and Tenerife so would prefer to go somewhere different.

Thank you in advance :)

Crete is still warm in September as is Cyprus but avoid the Ionian islands around Corfu and Zante as they can start to get a bit cool and damp particuarly if you are going to be going from mid to end Sept.

Other islands in the Dodecanese such as Kos shold be Ok but you will need to get ferries to the other smaller islands

We went to Crete late September a couple of years ago - ten days of rain out of fourteen so you never can tell.

Have a look at SANTORINI. Last year's weather is shown towards the bottom of the webpage.

The smaller islands start to close things down the last week in September, if the weather is not good they may close earlier. There will always be some tavernas open, but not much atmosphere in a small resort.

The Cyclades can be very windy although hot.
We were in Santorini and Paros late last September, it was pretty windy and cool in the evening with the Meltemi blowing, it can interrupt ferries if more than Beaufort 8
In Santorini Kamari was quite sheltered

Halkidiki can be hit and miss with the weather.

The islands around Athens are good at that time if year, eg Aegina, Spetse, Poros, Andros

Zante and Kefalonia are usually good.

Crete or Kos would be a good safe choice.

Tenerife, no problem that time of year, but not as nice as the Greek Islands

We generally go to the Greek Islands (Zante) mid Sept into early Oct and have rarely encountered weather problems. At most a little rain shower that lasts an hour at most and temps tend to be mid to high 20's.

I's always pick Greece over the Canaries, much nicer resorts and better food.
